DJ/Producer/Artist Nasty P has been at the forefront of the Scottish hip hop scene for over 10 years, masterminding the acclaimed club ’Soul Biscuits’, which regularly sold out without the help of big name headline acts. As a DJ, Nasty has supported numerous hip-hop heavyweights, including Roots Manuva, Questlove, Dudley Perkins, Souls Of Mischief, KRS One and many more .
His debut album “When The Smoke Clears”, on KFM records, fuses nimble-wristed turntable artistry, garnering an impressive 5/5 review from the German edition of Rolling Stone magazine.
His eclecticism is further explored on mash-up album ‘It’s Nicer When Its Nasty' which according to Hip Hop Connection is “flawlessly mixed.” The album, which features concoctions of B.I.G, Jimi Hendrix and Jay-Z , has enjoyed numerous plays on BBC Radio 1 with the accompanying promo ‘A Watchtower Problem’ clocking up 100,000 views on YouTube.
His new album "Choosers can't be Beggars", is his best work to date, seamlessly blending current genres of hip hop, dub and electro. It also features lyrical contributions from North London’s “Dapper Dan”, Skinnyman, ‘Diamond District’s’ Oddisee and Jurassic 5's Akil, with Nasty’s trademark instrumentation holding it down throughout.
